The Month of June

I'm finally back to blogging, folks! It has been seriously low on my priority list the past several months. I felt overwhelmed with trying to blog about the singing tour, as both posts were pretty long and had to have a lot of organization because of getting pictures and videos from other people... Ugh. It just looked huge to me, so, I avoided it. πŸ˜… Procrastination is what I do best!

The month of June... I can hardly remember what happened yesterday, for that matter! All I can remember is the tour and running, running, running. Until I get caught up to current events you'll have to rely on pictures as your guide to the month of June in the Grice household. (Refer to the quote at the top of my blog.) 😜

There was so much to be thankful for!

As I blogged about earlier, we toured several states with a singing group called "Sacrifice of Praise" in early June. I won't gush on about our time, but it will remain a long cherished memory.

Lots of babysitting!

Mom, Sam and Brie took our broilers in to be butchered the day we left for SOP. We had raised somewhere around 104 chickens, so it was quite the task! We had emptied out our chest freezer in preparation for receiving them. I hate chest freezers because food tends to get lost in them. That's why we designated it for broiler use only. πŸ˜‹

Abi's garden did really well during our rainy spring weather!

Our little apple trees were loaded with fruit this year.

Starbucks' S'mores Frappe... 😍

Spending time with Grandma and Aunt Carol Miller...

Degaje! (Do whatcha gotta do!)

Amazing lightning storms...

We had a very stormy spring!

Those clouds up there πŸ‘†produced very strong winds, rain and hail. It hit right before dusk, which was annoying because we couldn't watch it. 😠 Our power went out pretty soon after the storm started and didn't come back on till early the next morning. It was quite exciting living in the dark! Since our whole street lost power, it was very dark.

Dad and I were sitting in our pitch black living room, waiting for the others to come back from driving around viewing the storm damage. Dad had a phone call, and while he was talking, I heard this eery cry from the front yard. It sounded like a terror stricken human crying out, "Help me!" I sat there, my heart racing, hoping that my ears were playing tricks on me. They weren't. I heard it again, only louder and more distinct. Dad even heard it that time. He quickly got off the phone and listened with me. We were both ready to run outside to see who was hurt. I was terrified. Who knows what could've happened out there during the storm... As we listened more closely, my rubber band tight nerves slowly relaxed as I realized it was the neighborhood tom cat yowling. If you had taken my blood pressure it would've been through the roof! It scared us really bad!

Our steel pile blew all over the place...

We lost a lot of trees.

This wagon was empty before the storm...

As you have probably noticed, I've gone off the radar for awhile. Ok, for a long time. I have one word for you. Life. Guys, life reall...
