October 18- November 1 2014

I know, I know, I need a good scolding for being negligent of the blog. But I've been so busy (horrible excuse. Time weighed heavy on our hands last week...)

Nothing really exciting happens in our lives so I usually just wait till pictures pile up on iPhoto, then I post them in one conglomerated post. As you can tell from the title, these pictures span a 20 day time period. I do have two events in there that I'll be putting in separate posts as they are more noteworthy than to be smashed into a mixture of pictures. :)

So, stay tuned for the others. I'll get to them sometime...

The boys have been hunting like crazy.

Dad and the boys have been working like mad on a huge addition on a house near Wiota.

Sam's job was to smooth the concrete out after the boys slapped the blocks on.

It's really loud!

Josh and KK took Sam hunting. He had bought a tag for early muzzle loader and was hoping to fill it on the last day. He did get a shot, but the deer ended up being farther away than even Josh thought. Sam had to go home with an empty tag...

No wonder the deer stayed away!

This fall hasn't been the prettiest I've ever seen, but it's still been gorgeous!

Abi and the boys let the turks out in the front yard.

This picture and some of the following are stills from movies.

The boys had a blast playing with Watson in the leaves.

The turkeys are very easy to herd. You just need to grab a stick and walk behind them with it and they'll go where you want them to! :)

Kels asked me if I could sew up a bunch of dresses that she had cut out for Lynna. Of course I said yes!

Goof

We girls got home from somewhere (don't remember where) to find that the boys had tore the old grape arbor down. Hurray! That's been on the "to-do" list for a long time!

Our hostas turned a really pretty color this year.

Sam loves to take pictures of his rocks and crystals.

Abi and I were on our way home from cleaning Hoye's a couple weeks ago. Thankfully, we'd had the forethought to bring the camera along so that we could capture the sunset.

We arrived home to find the boys plowing our half dead pine trees over with the skid steer. Another item checked off our long list!

Josh also pulled up a bunch of tree stumps that had been left from cutting trees down.

Wheeling around on the mower. :)

Mom was cleaning her car in preparation for our NE City trip the next day (that will be a separate post).

Josh towed the tree to our burn pit. It was kinda nice- the tree plowed our driveway, raking the packed in gravel up.

Our Dianthus are still struggling along.

We watched the Zook boys for most of the day last Tuesday. They had fun building a blind in the tree line, oh ya, and smearing charcoal all over their faces! Here, they are having a snack of chocolate cake.

We also had Lynna that day. Doughy had a doctor's appointment, so we got to have Sweetie!

She loves the iPad and any electronic she can lay her hands on! It's hilarious to watch her play with the iPad or iPhone. She clicks the "Home" button, taps around on the screen like she's typing, then swipes the screen to go to the next thing. Smarty!

After the tree fiasco, the boys had a lot of sticks to pick up!

Abi was finding more free Amazon Prime music for us. :)

Since this skid steer was rented, Sam wasn't allowed to drive it by himself.

He was finally able to drive it with Josh. KK said they were smashed in the cab. :)

Somebody caught a tree!

This past Saturday, we actually got to have a family day at home! Abi and I prepared bacon, pancakes, chocolate waffles, eggs and hazelnut coffee. Sadly, Nate wasn't able to be there, but we invited Ben over to join us, so that kinda made up for it.

KK's deodorant. Just kidding...

Chocolate waffle batter

Crispy melt-in-your-mouth bacon

We've been trying to cook our chickens down to make room in the freezer and have ready made meat for lunches.

The boys went hunting later that afternoon.

Well, that should bring you almost up to date on our lives! :) This next week is going to be very busy. We have six houses to clean (that includes our own), go out for a girl's date, and who knows what else might come up! :)

Trying to Catch Up...

As you have probably noticed, I've gone off the radar for awhile. Ok, for a long time. I have one word for you. Life. Guys, life reall...
