Hodgepodge

Hm... It's been so long since I last posted that I'm not sure where to begin. :) So much has happened too! I guess, per usual, I will let the pictures tell our story.

We had a pretty big storm move in toward the middle of September. It was pretty bad down in Red Oak, but by the time it reached us it had dissipated some.

Our ever present companion. :)

It was pretty awesome watching the storm move in!

Another ever present companion. :)

Abi has been making a lot of mozzarella cheese lately.

Katelyn was "helping" her.

Giant cheese balls!

During Youth Season, the boys took Sam hunting every day for a week. He was so excited!

"Early one morning just as the sun was rising..."

Fresh bread with fresh homemade honey butter! Yum!

Sam wholeheartedly agrees. :)

The Kauffmans came to visit us one weekend. They so sweetly brought along all the fixings they would need for home made pizza. Kayla had made all the crusts before hand and we all put them together at our house. We, unfortunately didn't take any pictures, except this one that shows the Kauffman's truck and Wes and Marion Mohr's car. The Mohrs were in the neighborhood so they decided to stop by to see Dad. We had quite the crowd at our house that night! :)

Sunday mornings are always a crazy affair at our house. Especially when it's a fellowship meal Sunday...

We've been helping a lady that lives in Montana. She had bought a house here, fixed it up, furnished it and everything and only stayed in it just a handful of times. She finally decided to sell the house, so we went over and packed all of her things up and brought them over to our house. Eventually, we decided to have a booth at the Griswold's city wide garage sales to see if we could get some of her money back for her. Abi and I were going through the stuff in our basement, when, for whatever reason, I looked into this lady's coffee pot and discovered a dried up moldy coffee filter with ancient used coffee grounds in it. It was so old it didn't even stink any more! :)

Lynna loves doctoring Dad.

She was using the red Lincoln log piece for her cell phone. :) I took a really cute video of her talking to Gram, but it's too long to put on here.

Poor Doughy conked out.

For some reason, she put her two pony tail ties on her feet. :)

We've had this broom for a long time, even before we moved from our Persia house. Someone had super glued the handle in, but it finally snapped off so Daddy fixed us up with a wooden handle.

The poor dustpan finally bit the dust, too. :) I decided it was time for a new broom and ordered one off of Amazon. ;)

More cheese!

Abi and I had been craving apple pie, so Abi made one!

:)

Lotsa butter!

The boys didn't want pie, they wanted a crisp!

:)

Since Dad has been home, he's been teaching Sam some of his school.

Oh, yeah. Apple pie!

Abi made a yummy breakfast pizza for supper one night.

Our chickens are getting pretty old so we decided it was time for a fresh batch. We ordered 25 buff orpingtons to replace our old hens.

So cute!

Josh must have gotten bored while sitting in the blind with Sam. :)

Ryan and Kels were having a date night, so we kept the babies for most of the evening. Doughy went home at night since he still needs his mom, but Lynna stayed overnight. :)

The funnier videos were too big, so I had to content myself with putting the shorter, not so funny video on.

Katelyn was helping Sam bleach the milk bucket.

It's rare when you can get the boys to help in the kitchen! :)

They were making more cheese.

Sam was helping us clean the other week. Mom bought a cheap bagless vacuum quite awhile that is loud! I discovered Sam with sound muffling ear muffs on. :)

Stay tuned! Our 2015 family camping trip post is coming up next!

  2. Liked reading this update!! My, you guys are busy, busy! Your niece and nephew are adorable. We also baked an apple crisp just the night before last! And we hadn't baked anything like that in at least a year so that's really neat, haha! :)
