4th of July and Beyond

I'm finally catching up! This post should bring you up to date on everything that's been going on in our neck of the woods.

It seems as though summer finally realized that it had forgotten to watch for it's cue. The rain seemed never ending! At least every other day we'd get a nice drenching. Now (sadly) summer has leapt onto the stage with a resounding crash. I don't think we were quite ready to give up our extended spring. :) Our poor guys have been baking as they work outside. I worry about them out there...

Joseph has started walking! He's so cute and fat toddling around. Oh, and you should hear him laugh! He has the best belly laugh you've ever heard! :)

Nate took the old computer apart to get the hard drive out so that we could transfer things over.

Look how filthy it was! I asked Nate if taking it apart and cleaning it would've helped it to last longer, but he said no. Computers are glued together and there are parts that should not be disturbed. This computer was nearly 10 years old! :)

We decided to grill out on the 4th of July. These are sautéed peppers and onions. The best way to eat them!

BBQ bacon green beans

Roasted potatoes

The spread

Katelyn loves olives! I put one on each of her fingers. What fun!

She's wearing Dad's slippers. :)

Our plan was to meet at our house at 3, then around 8:30 we'd head to the Atlantic Airport where they were hosting a firework show. We got there with plenty of time to spare and ended up waiting for nearly two hours. :)

:)

The Airport

Our "neighbors"

Lynna was wearing Brie's cowboy boots. :)

It's getting darker, but still no fireworks...

Nate was being patriotic... The airport was graciously sharing various popular songs, country and other, over their loud speakers. I think it was "Proud to be an American" playing in this picture. :)

You can't really see them, but the boys were shooting off their own cheap fireworks.

I snapped a couple pictures, but they all turned out blurry. I wasn't really trying very hard to get clear ones. I was going to put the video of the grand finale on, but it was too big.

Talitha is getting "huger" by the minute!

I hope you don't get tired of our Sweetie's pictures. She's just so cute I can't resist sharing them!

Sweet girl

"Smell, Watson!"

She's wearing Sam's boots. :)

"Come, Offal!" Her pronunciation of "Opal" is a riot! :)

I think this video is cute enough to go viral...

The other night, Dad found three mice cavorting around on our countertops, one being a lot bigger than the others. He set four mouse traps. The next morning, the two smaller ones were caught, one trap was empty, and the other trap was gone! We had to leave that morning and were gone for a good part of the day. When we came home, we could almost taste dead mouse. Yuck! We looked all over for it, and finally found it under the dishwasher all tangled up in the hoses. This picture is kind of an optical illusion. The mouse wasn't quite as big as it appears to be. :)

Our green beans are producing like all get out, much to the boys' chagrin.

Katelyn was wearing those goofy glasses, not knowing how cute she was.

I was laughing so hard my stomach started to hurt! :)

I love this one! She's so hard to photograph 'cause she moves all over and doesn't like to look at the camera.

At one point she was wearing them upside down while "texting" on her "iPhone." :P

It was too hot to snap green beans outside, so we did them indoors.

For a treat, we had ice cream popsicles. Lynna loved her's so much she decided to wear it. :)

After she ate about half of it, she gave the rest to Watson before we could stop her. Of course, he loved it!

It was so hot and humid out that the lens fogged up! (Notice the ice cream dripping down her fist?)

Playing in the couch cushions

Our veggies are doing marvelously!

Till next time, folks...
