Miscalleneous Events

After Micah and Kayla's wedding, we settled back into life at home...

Rather a disgusting picture to start with. :) Sam was taking pictures of a vulture that visited a coon the boys had shot.

Fixing a bike...

Sam got a new bike awhile ago, but had to return it due to a bent rim.

We had a good harvest of cherries this year! Actually, we only picked enough for a batch of jam. The Martins took the rest. Thank you! :)

Sam has been having fun taping sparklers together to make big huge ones.

Watson is so patient. :)

Toward the end of June, my great aunt Lynn and most of her family came to visit us. Doughy was being very cute!

He really liked Kate!

Uh, oh, that smile tells of mischief!

Gracie was feeding her mulberries.

In preparation for a new deck, the boys tore the old one off a couple weeks ago. We still have yet to finish it...

Listening to Cathedrals on the iPod with ear buds. :)

Gram, Ryan and Kelsey were taking a family trip to SD in the camper. Ryan and Josh were installing a hitch stabilizer, so we all turned out en masse to watch.

Poor Doughy got a booboo.

Katelyn was playing with Gram's phone. Often when she's playing "phone" she holds the phone up to our ears and says, "Say Hi!"

The clouds were really pretty one evening.

Shana gave these candy bars to Nate. They were a chocolate bar with a fizzy pop rock or something inside. Basically carbonated chocolate. I never did try any 'cause Mom said it felt like bugs popping in your mouth. Yuck! I couldn't get over that.

We've had hoards of butterflies this year! Abi was wondering if maybe they are migrating through our area this year. Any ideas?

Abi bought two more bales of hay. Both of us spent an afternoon pealing the outer moldy layers off and spreading them over the potatoes. Abi didn't have enough dirt to hill the potatoes, so we just used a thick layer of hay.

Can you tell I wore flip-flops when I was pitching hay? :)

All finished!

Our baby apple trees are doing beautifully!

Mom's little pansies are doing well.

I was weeding the flower beds and came across two eggs like this. I don't think they're robin eggs. The nest was rather large and messy, not neat at all.

For several weeks, we lived under a haze from the wild fire in Canada. There was one day that it was so hazy that you could almost smell the smoke!

The boys took the cushions off one day and had fun doing flips and stuff on them. While they had them off, I took the opportunity to vacuum the couches. I didn't have to do the cushions 'cause they banged the dust out of them! :) There are benefits to messes.

Lazy cat...

Aunt Holly's friend, Bobbi, made Gram this Ireland quilt. She sewed pictures from our two trips into it. It is amazing! Gram was really touched.

We decided that Doughy was old enough to come to Grandma's too. Kels said he could come for a couple hours. As you can see, he got wore out and fell asleep.

Up next, the Fourth of July and beyond!

Trying to Catch Up...

As you have probably noticed, I've gone off the radar for awhile. Ok, for a long time. I have one word for you. Life. Guys, life reall...
