Moving Gram

When we heard that the young guy from up the road was moving out, Dad quickly contacted the owner of the house to see if Gram could rent it. He said yes!

He was going to raise the rent on the next renter, but he told us that since he knows Dad and knows that we'll take care of the place, he would leave it the same. God is so good!

With the help of our church and my uncles, we were able to move Gram in one day, completely set up her house and unpack everything.

She was also able to purchase the previous renters furniture for only $100. That included, two couches, a leather recliner, coffee table and dining table. Gram absolutely loves the recliner!

Like I mentioned in my previous post, we cleaned the new house a few days before she moved in.
Before cleaning

After cleaning

There was black mold growing on the ceiling in a couple places. I sprayed it with bleach to kill it. After spraying it a couple times,  KK painted KILZ on to seal it.

All clean!

After we moved everything out of Gram's old house, Abi, Anna, Meredith and I gave it a good cleaning. My uncle was like, "Man, you guys are fast! You're like cleaning maniacs." Ha, we've had a lot of practice. 😂

By the time we got to the new house, they'd unloaded everything and were eating a quick lunch. Many hands make light work!

These two worked really hard...

Cody, the previous tenant, left a lot of his stuff and a lot of junk in the garage. A group worked on clearing the trash out while some worked inside. I guess there were a lot mice in the garage. Some of the stories were pretty funny and others were downright disgusting, like when Sam jumped on a mouse, smashing it flatter than a pancake. From what I hear it was pretty graphic. 😖

Why move the bench to fix the outlet??

All set up!

Abi knew how her office stuff went, so she worked in there.
