Aunt Carol's 50th Birthday Party

For Aunt Carol's 50th, everyone that was able to got her 50 of something. We didn't tell her that part, only that the whole Lowis side was meeting at her house for her party. :)

You'll notice in most of the pictures that Aunt Carol repainted her living room. Mom and she cleaned out a lady's basement. They found a lot of paint down there, but when they took it to the dump, the people wouldn't take it, so Aunt Carol used it. Her LR looks really nice!

Follow the photo tour...

Not only did Aunt Carol have to get her house ready for a party, but she had to frost her own cake!

Believe it or not, this cake is sugar free! The frosting was pretty stiff, so it didn't spread very well, but it was still cake that Aunt Carol and Dad could eat!

Burgers and dogs... Yummy!

Grilling's hard work! (Not!)

Isn't Liya getting big? She's so cute!

The pile of '50s'. :)

Uh oh, Katerbug spit up on Uncle Jossie... Too bad. :)

Sweet baby
Aunt Shelly and Taylor went absolutely bonkers over Katers. :)

A picture is worth a thousand words... no need to say more.

Photo op :)

Opening the '50s' now.

Aunt Holly and Uncle Mike gave her 50 $1 bills and 50 mustard seeds (representing faith).

Mom made this 50 $1 bill wreath.

From Aunt Shelly and Uncle Tony

I can't remember what else they gave her, but I do remember the bottle of 50 pain relievers! :)

Aunt Erin and Uncle Bernie gave a journal/photo album and a $50 bill. They had written 50 names of God in the journal and 50 encouraging Bible verses. The album also had pages with photo sleeves, so they put 50 pictures of the Gavins and others in. It was a really neat idea!

Ry and Kels gave 50 pens and 2 journals.

This is Abi and my gift...

We decided to give her socks. Some of them were wild! We wanted to give a wide variety of color and style, ranging from anklets to knee highs, pink and black zebra stripes and neon green to black. :)

From Ben, Brie, and Grace

Ben gave 50 $1 bills and Brie and Grace gave towels and candles.
Gram's gift of 50 $1 bills was in their gift also.

This is from Dad

He wrapped his gift in 50 sheets of newspaper and wrote 50 50s all over the package.

Still ripping...

At last, the end!

Only to find that it was just 50 pretzel sticks!

Dad loves pretzel sticks, so to him it would have been worth it to rip through all that paper. But, to some of us, it's not exactly that worth it. :)

Josh, KK and Sam's gift...

...was 50 packages of fruit snacks! (Jealous Nate?) :)

I think that this was from Brie and Grace also.

50 sticks of gum

From TJ.

50 mini Snickers bars! Oh, ya! (She did share with us all.) :)

Whoo! All finished!

Some of the crowd.

More of the crowd.

The rest of the crowd.

Sam was trying to hide from the camera, but didn't quite succeed.

Dad and Uncle Mike talking out on the deck.

The boys were in the lap of luxury with bellies full of chips, baked beans, burgers, hot dogs, cake, ice cream... You name it. :)
