Baptism Pictures

The following pictures are from Sunday, Aug. 11.

"Baby Michael", as just about everyone calls him.

Smiths were out for Micah's baptism, so everyone brought more food, hence, the extra table for dessert.

Shawn's huge amount of food.

On our way to Viking Lake!
Dad had told a story of a down syndrome boy who was on his way to a baptism. When the boy noticed the long line of cars behind him, he exclaimed, "Dad, turn your lights on, we're going to a funeral!" As you can see, some of us did turn our lights on. Side note: Our van happened to be the first in line. While talking about the story mentioned above, Sam said, "We must be the hearse!" :)

Drop off line

Marty's son, Chris, came too.

Our little angel :)
(Not T.J.)

Mother and Daughter

The little people were already at home in the water. :)

Gathering around the picnic table brought over for those that needed to sit down.

Amy :)

Singing
It actually didn't sound too horrible this time. :)

Uncle Tom was able to make it... I was really blessed to see the effort that everyone put into making him feel at home and welcome.

Marty cracks me all to pieces... :)

Daddy, preaching a short 15-20 min message.

The little ones had fun digging in the sand.

Wading out to her spiritual death.

Whoo! That's cold!

Spectators, watching it all unfold.

Going under

Totally immersed

Risen up a new woman in Christ!

I get all teary eyed when I look through these pictures of Brie. I remember vividly the day she was born, her growing up years, now, I get to watch as she proclaims her new life in Christ to all those around her. It's so beautiful!

Sweet memories...

People kept getting in the way of my pictures, but that's ok. :)

Micah was next

Praying for him

Going under...

...to come up a new man in Christ!

Father and son

Mother and son

Brothers

Marty was last of all.

Edward and Mark helped him to wade out there.

Kneeling down isn't easy in the water!

Praying

I love the look on Marty's face. :)

Going under

Whoops! Failed attempt. Marty started to float...

...So, they just pushed him face first!

A new man, amen!

Praying

It was a blessing to watch Marty get baptized, knowing his physical disabilities, it was hard for him to go through with it. But he made it, praise God!

The crowd heading back to the picnic table.

We sang one or two more songs, prayed, then dismissed.

Aw, man! Is that cute, or what? Noah was holding her, if that explains anything. :)

Back at the church, Chupps, Zooks and our family stayed around till later. We had left over crock-pot meals and Mabel's famous ham and egg salad sandwiches on her famous bread. (You've got to taste them!)
As you can see, Amy succumbed to the long day and her full belly. :)

Wonder of wonders, Dad never put his shoes back on after he changed his wet clothes at church. He even went stocking footed home.

Wow!

Smiths and Aunt Carol, if you want any of the baptism pictures, let me know and I can email them to you in high res.
