Fundraiser Bake Sale

As most of you know, Ben and Josh have been training for mission aviation. They started off on a flight simulator and a test program that teaches them aviation terms, problems, etc. They've also been meeting weekly via Skype with a flight trainer (an old friend of ours) over the summer.

Aunt Carol had the idea to have a bake sale to earn money for the boys. They planned it for a Monday and Saturday.

Preparation

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pumpkin bread and cookies

Apple Cinnamon Bread

Mom made their banner.

Mom and I had fun making everything pretty. We hand wrote all of the labels... Ugh!

Abi also made her famous caramel corn.

The caramel sauce

They asked if they could set up at different stores, but only Kmart in Red Oak agreed.

That first day they didn't sell a whole lot, but they got rid of almost everything on Saturday!

These are just some miscellaneous pictures...
Sammy is eating red velvet cake mix cinnamon rolls that Abi made as an experiment. Despite the gross color, they were actually really good! :)

Josh duck taped Mom's flip-flop to the floor, hoping that some naive person would come along and try to kick it.

We had been doing pears. Dad came into the kitchen and told us that we might want to go clean the floor in the living room as he'd tried to kick a flip-flop out of the way that was stuck to the floor from pear juice.
I asked Dad if he was sure that that was what was wrong. I told him he'd better take a closer look. Peeking around the corner, I saw him slowly peel the flip-flop up, stare at it for awhile, then gently stick it back down. He'd been had... :)
