Sammy's 9th Birthday

We decided to celebrate Sam's birthday Saturday the 5th before the boys left for flight school so that everyone could be there. For those who don't know when his birthday is, it's October 10. :)

Sammy wanted a "Sally" cake for his birthday. We had to hire Dad for that job. :)

This is the pile of food that Dad and Abi took to KY for the boys.

Gift basket for Schuermans

How many boys does it take to thread new fishing line? Obviously, more than it should. :)

Starting to look more dog-like.

Dad had an awed audience.

All he had to go by was a picture that we found on the internet. The cake turned out almost exactly like the picture.

Josh was getting a hair cut.

He doesn't look very impressed... :)

That's better! :)

Tickle torturing the birthday boy!

Flattering... Not!

Finished product.

Aw...

Baby Fat

Nate, Dad and Mom got that Tampico (over on the left) for your homecoming party the first time you were coming home. Since you still aren't home, we had to drink it. Sorry... :)

Ready to sing "Happy Birthday."

The Grice/Gavin version of a candle, a match, or lighter. :)

Candle

Sammy got the nose.

That was a yummy cake! (I made it:)

Ry's adoring crowd. :)

Ryan and Kelsey's amazing wrapping paper... A Walmart bag!

Sam had been wanting a BB gun. He didn't seem to get it that most of the gifts had a gun theme, like this target.

KK wrapped the gun in layers and layers of tissue paper and masking tape. He also wrapped a bunch of misc. stuff in to make the package lumpy to trick him. :)

Brie put Katers to sleep.

Still unwrapping

WOW!!!

He was so excited!

The mighty hunter

Sweet...

Sorry this post is so late. Since Abi was taking the camera, I was going to download the pictures that night so that I could actually post them on time, but I forgot. Better late than never, I suppose! :)
