Meet our new Barrel Horse...

...Gwendolyn!

Gwendolyn's the safest horse that you could ever ride, even though she doesn't have a head and only 3 legs. But, as the saying goes, beauty is only skin deep, or, barrel deep in our case.

Ok, you're prob'ly confused as to what this is all about. Abi wanted to get familiar with mounting and dismounting a horse. She asked Josh to make her a "barrel horse" high enough to be realistic. Gwendolyn is about 14.3 hands, so she's not very tall.

We've had a lot of fun on Gwendolyn, yes, even Dad and Ryan! :)

The Gwendolyn Conspirators

All we had was  a child's saddle so the stirrups were really short. I had to use a bucket to get up on her.

YeeHaw!

Gwendolyn's expecting! Just kidding...

Gavins were over the other night.

T.J. let us borrow his saddle, which was much easier to get up onto. Here Brie and Grace are putting the child saddle back on. It takes more than one person to tighten the cinch! :)

You can see just a part of Gracie over on the right. She's riding "King Arthur," another smaller "horse" that the boys rigged with a five gallon bucket, a saw horse, ratchet straps and the child's saddle. :)

Cowboy Sam

"This is fun!"

"This is extremely fun!!!"
I love their faces in this picture. :)
