Snow and Cookie Decorating

"Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow! It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow..." That old song always goes through my mind this time of the year, especially the first couple snows that we get. I always think of Gramps this time of year too. When the first snow would come, we'd call him and sing that song. He just did not like winter.

We got our first good snow awhile ago. It dusted everything lightly and actually stuck around till the next day! :)

We got to "babysit" the 3 youngest Chupp children last week. Mabel was going to be gone for pretty much the whole day, Don was going to be at work and Lois Ann wasn't home either. Caleb dropped them off on his way to Leon's around 9 am. Once everybody was done with school, we set up for cookie decorating. Boy, what fun they had! :)

SNOW!

I'm sure by January we'll be tired of snow, but hey, enjoy it while it's fresh!

"... I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow..."
Well, I don't want snow that bad. :)

Poor petunias...

Abi baked the cookies the night before Chupps came.

Sammy was making trails in the dough. :)

Mm... Cheesy potato soup for supper!

Mom had gotten some sweet potatoes, so we had to tease Daddy. I put one in his bowl and Mom told him that that was his supper. He wasn't too pleased. :)
That Monday night, Ry and Kels, Dad, Ben and Josh went out to Holdrege to do some work for Uncle Jeff. They got back on Thursday afternoon. Josh stayed till Saturday, though, to help Micah do some things.

Mom thought this was pretty...

Abi called "Sam!" and when he looked she planted a floury hand across his face.

We told him to go look in the mirror. This was his reaction. :)

Ry and Kels came over just before they left, so we got to play with Pitter Baby. She loved the truck books that Sam was showing her.

Getting excited over those trucks!

The next day we had Chupps over.

Everybody had so much fun decorating cookies!

Abi made this little man and Valeria decorated him.

The counter was about half full of cookies!

Sam made this angel just for Mom.

After the last cookie was decorated, we told them they could eat the rest of the icing.

Squirt it on and lick it off!

I don't know how they could eat that much sugar in one sitting, but... To each his own... I guess...
