Texas Vacation- Going Home!

We were up bright and early January 5. Our last morning. 😢

The lot beside our house was for sale. We decided we should all pitch in a little bit and buy the lot, then build a house. Simple, right?

One last look down the beach boardwalk...

It was an idyllic morning.

It was sad saying goodbye to Nate and Gin, but we choked back the tears and put on a cheerful front.

All cleaned up...

Doughy was scared of this bear at a rest area where we stopped. Once I assured him it was ok, he had fun riding on it's back!

We overnighted in Oklahoma City. It snowed over night, making the roads a slippery mess.

They don't plow or sand their roads because snow is so scarce there. People were freaked out by it!

When we pulled over to reconnoiter, we spotted an ambulance and a police officer checking out a homeless person who looked like they'd slept out in the snow all night. He must've been ok because they all left eventually.

Listening to music and waiting for walkie talkie calls from the other vehicles in our caravan. Traveling gets pretty boring in the backseat.

A whopping big hamburger from Burger King (No, I couldn't finish it all.)

Sharing ear buds!

We were so glad to get out of the car that evening!

Mom wore Sam's hat while unloading stuff. She said it made her the captain. 😉

We arrived home to find Casey's pizza on our counter! Thank you, Fantons! You were amazing!

I think we came back with more stuff than we'd started with.

So ends one of the best vacations ever! Except for some bad head colds that made the rounds, we all stayed healthy, thank the Lord!

I'd like to take a minute to thank Anna and Meredith who faithfully did Abi's animal chores. If it hadn't been for you two, Abi might've had to stay home! Also, thank you for cleaning Zooks for us while we were gone. Thank you, so, so much for helping us out!
