Forgotten Iowa Team Goes Beyond Houses!

Ryan and Kelsey told us about an abandoned school that they'd found while out driving one Sunday afternoon. Of course, we had to find it!

It wasn't too impressive, but interesting in that it was once a school house, bustling with the cheery noise of children at play, or chanting the multiplication tables...

The bright red brick chimney made for nice pictures.

An old piano

The doorway was littered with trash. There was also a rank smell of something like cat. KK saw a coon run into the garbage, so that might have been what we were smelling.

Derelict

Tête-à-tête

This boot was in pretty good shape. It had been deliberately tied in this small tree. Any ideas as to why someone would've tied it up there?

Some honey bees had set up residence behind the buckboard. Thankfully, they were sluggish from the cold, but we still didn't take any chances. :)
